In Fragmented, the field becomes an immense sculpture garden—once grand, imposing, and immovable. As the production unfolds, these statues begin to crack, shift, and ultimately break apart, revealing the energy and motion hidden beneath their rigid surfaces. Through a powerful original score by Shilo Stroman, the show explores the tension between permanence and decay, and the unexpected beauty that emerges when something built to last begins to fall away.
Textural percussion writing and evolving melodic cells echo the sound of stone under stress, while expanding rhythmic frameworks evoke fractures spreading through marble. Visual design reinforces this metamorphosis: forms distort, structures collapse, and the ensemble reshapes itself as if pieces have shattered and reassembled in new configurations.
Rather than portraying destruction alone, Fragmented examines transformation—the idea that when the old breaks apart, new possibilities take shape. It is a show about the elegance of imperfection, the power of rupture, and the artistry found in the moment something once whole becomes something entirely new.
